Who am I?
Hi, I’m James Mazzocchi, a music composer based in the UK with a passion for crafting emotionally driven scores for film, television, and video games. I study BA Film at Leeds Conservatoire, where I am honing my skills in orchestration, sound design, and storytelling through music. During my time there, I’ve collaborated with filmmakers and producers, developing a strong understanding of how music shapes mood, pacing, and narrative impact.
My work spans from orchestral arrangements to minimalist, ambient textures, always tailored to the unique vision of each project. I’ve composed for short films, cinematic trailers, student films, and media installations, with a focus on capturing character and tone through sound. Whether it’s tension, tenderness, or triumph, I aim to score moments that truly resonate.
In addition to composing, I regularly produce and upload high-quality transcriptions and parts for bands, helping musicians access accurate and performance-ready materials. I also offer custom transcription services and make select pieces of my film music available for purchase—ideal for filmmakers, content creators, and ensembles seeking cinematic music with emotional depth.
I’m deeply inspired by composers like Thomas Newman, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Joe Hisaishi, and I bring that same level of detail, emotion, and experimentation to every score I create. I’m always open to new collaborations and excited to work with creators who are passionate about their craft.
